This artwork by Oscar Ricciardi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2008. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work Bay of Naples, Vesuvius beyond; and Fishermen bringing in the catch sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,461.24) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oscar Ricciardi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishing Vessels Moored At The Bay of Naples, which sold at auction in March 2005 for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,359.89).

In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit Bay of Naples, Vesuvius beyond; and Fishermen bringing in the catch für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.461,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Oscar Ricciardi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fishing Vessels Moored At The Bay of Naples beobachtet, die im März 2005 für GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.359,89) versteigert wurde.
