Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Young woman in prayer by Oscar Gustave Rejlander. The price achieved of GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,807.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oscar Gustave Rejlander - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Allegorical study, 1850s, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,599.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Young woman in prayer von Oscar Gustave Rejlander zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.792,50 (€ 2.807,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Oscar Gustave Rejlander mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Allegorical study, 1850s beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 4.112,50 (€ 6.599,05) versteigert wurde.
