Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Mary Rejlander by Oscar Gustave Rejlander for GBP 717.00 (€ 1,122.83). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Oscar Gustave Rejlander have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Allegorical study, 1850s in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,599.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Mary Rejlander von Oscar Gustave Rejlander für GBP 717,00 (€ 1.122,83) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oscar Gustave Rejlander auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Allegorical study, 1850s im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.112,50 (€ 6.599,05).
