In December 2018 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art II, which included the work Composition by Oscar Gauthier. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 11,050.00 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Oscar Gauthier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tourments d'une fleur in June last year with an auction result of EUR 75,975.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition von Oscar Gauthier zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 11.050,00 und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oscar Gauthier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tourments d'une fleur im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 75.975,00.
