In April this year Bonhams held the auction California Art, which included the work Brown Hillside (Pasadena) by Orrin Augustine White. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,200.00 (€ 9,239.13), 70% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Orrin Augustine White - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Autumn Sycamores, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,573.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Brown Hillside (Pasadena) von Orrin Augustine White zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 9.239,13) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Orrin Augustine White mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Autumn Sycamores beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 37.000,00 (€ 25.573,68) versteigert wurde.
