Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Tong Kang by Ong Kim Seng. The price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,426.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ong Kim Seng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nepal in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 725,000.00 (€ 85,575.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tong Kang von Ong Kim Seng zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.426,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ong Kim Seng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nepal im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 725.000,00 (€ 85.575,95).
