Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Old House, Singapore by Ong Kim Seng was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. The price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 7,354.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ong Kim Seng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nepal in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 725,000.00 (€ 85,575.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Old House, Singapore von Ong Kim Seng wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 7.354,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ong Kim Seng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nepal im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 725.000,00 (€ 85.575,95).
