Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bhaktapur Main Street by Ong Kim Seng was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 200,000.00 – 280,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 212,500.00 (€ 23,941.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ong Kim Seng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nepal , which sold at auction in April 2017 for HKD 725,000.00 (€ 85,575.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bhaktapur Main Street von Ong Kim Seng wurde im April 2016 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 280.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 212.500,00 (€ 23.941,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ong Kim Seng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nepal beobachtet, die im April 2017 für HKD 725.000,00 (€ 85.575,95) versteigert wurde.
