Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of a Woman by Oliver Messel was auctioned at Bonhams in London in April 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,226.57). Admittedly, works by Oliver Messel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Mrs William "Babe" Paley (1915-1978) in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,188.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a Woman von Oliver Messel kam im April 2021 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.226,57) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oliver Messel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Mrs William "Babe" Paley (1915-1978) im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.188,24).
