Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July this year Bonhams held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Madame B by Olamilekan Abatan. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 9,600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Olamilekan Abatan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Narcisse, 2022, which sold at auction in November last year for EUR 36,736.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Madame B von Olamilekan Abatan zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 9.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 9.600,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Olamilekan Abatan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Narcisse, 2022 beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für EUR 36.736,00 versteigert wurde.
