Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Better Destiny, 2023 by Olamilekan Abatan was sold in the Contemporary African Art Online auction at Artcurial in May this year. The price achieved of EUR 10,496.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Olamilekan Abatan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Narcisse, 2022, which sold at auction in November last year for EUR 36,736.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Better Destiny, 2023 von Olamilekan Abatan wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary African Art Online bei Artcurial versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 10.496,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Olamilekan Abatan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Narcisse, 2022 beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für EUR 36.736,00 versteigert wurde.
