The work Amor Vincit Omnia, 2021 by Olamilekan Abatan was sold in the African Contemporary Art auction at Artcurial in Paris in May last year. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 13,120.00 64% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Olamilekan Abatan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Narcisse, 2022, which sold at auction in November last year for EUR 36,736.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 64 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Amor Vincit Omnia, 2021 von Olamilekan Abatan wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion African Contemporary Art bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 13.120,00 und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Olamilekan Abatan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Narcisse, 2022 beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für EUR 36.736,00 versteigert wurde.
