Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman, which included the work Crow Scouts 11 x 15 3/4 in. framed 19 1/2 x 24 in. by Olaf Carl Seltzer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,500.00 (€ 24,702.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Olaf Carl Seltzer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blackfeet Warriors (Piegans), which sold at auction in May last year for USD 100,800.00 (€ 93,933.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman durch, in der auch die Arbeit Crow Scouts 11 x 15 3/4 in. framed 19 1/2 x 24 in. von Olaf Carl Seltzer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 25.500,00 (€ 24.702,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Olaf Carl Seltzer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blackfeet Warriors (Piegans) beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 100.800,00 (€ 93.933,46) versteigert wurde.
