Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Western Art, which included the work Crow Warriors sight 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 in. framed 22 x 24 in. by Olaf Carl Seltzer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,120.00 (€ 5,928.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Olaf Carl Seltzer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Blackfeet Warriors (Piegans) in May last year with an auction result of USD 100,800.00 (€ 93,933.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Crow Warriors sight 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 in. framed 22 x 24 in. von Olaf Carl Seltzer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.120,00 (€ 5.928,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Olaf Carl Seltzer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Blackfeet Warriors (Piegans) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 93.933,46).
