Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman, which included the work War Party on a Bluff sight 9 x 12 in. framed 17 x 20 1/2 in. by Olaf Carl Seltzer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,200.00 (€ 9,880.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Olaf Carl Seltzer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blackfeet Warriors (Piegans) in May last year with an auction result of USD 100,800.00 (€ 93,933.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman durch, in der auch die Arbeit War Party on a Bluff sight 9 x 12 in. framed 17 x 20 1/2 in. von Olaf Carl Seltzer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 9.880,85) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Olaf Carl Seltzer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blackfeet Warriors (Piegans) im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 93.933,46).
