Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Satisfied by Oky Rey Montha was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 45,000.00 – 65,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 47,500.00 (€ 5,227.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oky Rey Montha - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Journey To The Earth, which sold at auction in May 2016 for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 20,226.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Satisfied von Oky Rey Montha kam im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 45.000,00 – 65.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 47.500,00 (€ 5.227,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Oky Rey Montha mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Journey To The Earth beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 20.226,76) versteigert wurde.
