Auction result well in line with expectations
The work (I) Pria Pemalu (Shy Man) (Ii) You Never Walk Alone by Oky Rey Montha was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. The price achieved of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,254.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 60,000.00 – 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oky Rey Montha - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Journey To The Earth, which sold at auction in May 2016 for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 20,226.76).

Die Arbeit (I) Pria Pemalu (Shy Man) (Ii) You Never Walk Alone von Oky Rey Montha wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.254,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 60.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Oky Rey Montha mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Journey To The Earth beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 20.226,76) versteigert wurde.
