Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rooster with hen and chick beneath chrysanthemums by Okamoto Shuki was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2006. The price achieved of USD 3,360.00 (€ 2,648.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Okamoto Shuki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cranes and pine; turtles beneath a flowering tree in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 50,190.00 (€ 46,045.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rooster with hen and chick beneath chrysanthemums von Okamoto Shuki wurde im September 2006 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.360,00 (€ 2.648,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Okamoto Shuki erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cranes and pine; turtles beneath a flowering tree im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.190,00 (€ 46.045,87).
