Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peonies and small birds by Okamoto Shuki was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2003. The price achieved of USD 4,780.00 (€ 2,896.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Okamoto Shuki achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cranes and pine; turtles beneath a flowering tree in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 50,190.00 (€ 46,045.87).
