Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Ohara Koson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2021. In the Fine Japanese Prints auction, the work Snow on Willow Bridge sold for GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,607.00) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ohara Koson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hanging scroll, ink and colour on silk, of monkeys in a maple tree over a waterfall, signed Koson and sealed Koson, which sold at auction in May 2013 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,153.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ohara Koson erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Japanese Prints wurde die Arbeit Snow on Willow Bridge für GBP 3.024,00 (€ 3.607,00) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.400,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ohara Koson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hanging scroll, ink and colour on silk, of monkeys in a maple tree over a waterfall, signed Koson and sealed Koson beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.153,01) versteigert wurde.
