The work Hanging scroll, ink and colour on silk, of monkeys in a maple tree over a waterfall, signed Koson and sealed Koson by Ohara Koson was sold in the The Japanese Aesthetic auction at Christies in London in May 2013. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,153.01). With this result, Hanging scroll, ink and colour on silk, of monkeys in a maple tree over a waterfall, signed Koson and sealed Koson is even the most expensive work of art by Ohara Koson that we have observed at auctions so far.
