Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Autumn Grasses and Moon by Ohara Koson was auctioned at Christies in New York in March this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,134.00 (€ 1,043.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ohara Koson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hanging scroll, ink and colour on silk, of monkeys in a maple tree over a waterfall, signed Koson and sealed Koson in May 2013 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,153.01).
