Signed Öyvind Fahlström and numbered 42/100 on verso. Executed in 1973. Silkscreen printed in colour on opaque white vinyl divided into 40 small squares, cut and fitted with magnets on reverse on metal disc. Total 51 x 81.5 cm. Printed by Styria Studio, New York (Adolf Rischner, master printer). Published by Multiples, Inc. New York.
Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work "Section of World Map - A Puzzle". by Öyvind Fahlström was sold in the Modern Art + Design auction at Bukowski in Stockholm in November 2021. It achieved a price of SEK 30,000.00 (€ 2,926.38), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Öyvind Fahlström achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "ADE-LEDIC-NANDER I" in December last year with an auction result of SEK 4,300,000.00 (€ 385,464.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit "Section of World Map - A Puzzle". von Öyvind Fahlström wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Modern Art + Design bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von SEK 30.000,00 (€ 2.926,38) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Öyvind Fahlström erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "ADE-LEDIC-NANDER I" im Dezember letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 4.300.000,00 (€ 385.464,57).
