In January 2014 VAN HAM held the auction Dekorative Kunst, which included the work Cottage by Octavius Thomas Clark. Here, the estimate of EUR 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 903.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Octavius Thomas Clark - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figures before a cottage in a wooded river landscape, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,496.64).
Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2014 führte VAN HAM die Auktion Dekorative Kunst durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cottage von Octavius Thomas Clark zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der Schätzpreis von EUR 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 903,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Octavius Thomas Clark mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Figures before a cottage in a wooded river landscape beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 1.527,50 (€ 2.496,64) versteigert wurde.
