Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction AT HOME - BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART, which included the work The cottage; and The watermill by Octavius Thomas Clark. It changed hands for a price of GBP 573.60 (€ 858.63) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Octavius Thomas Clark - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figures before a cottage in a wooded river landscape, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,496.64).

Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion AT HOME - BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS OF ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit The cottage; and The watermill von Octavius Thomas Clark zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 573,60 (€ 858,63) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Octavius Thomas Clark mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Figures before a cottage in a wooded river landscape beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 1.527,50 (€ 2.496,64) versteigert wurde.
