This artwork by Norman Thelwell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2014. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work "I notice you always pick on the stuff I make at pottery class" (illustrated); "We can't get a gardener for love nor money"; and "We forgot to salt the potatoes!" sold for GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,458.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Norman Thelwell; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'How many trading stamps did they give you with him?' sold at auction in December 2010 with the realized price of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,349.99).
