Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Illustration for the Cover of Punch by Norman Thelwell was auctioned at Bonhams in London in April 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,657.50 (€ 1,906.61). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Norman Thelwell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'How many trading stamps did they give you with him?', which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,349.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Illustration for the Cover of Punch von Norman Thelwell kam im April 2021 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.657,50 (€ 1.906,61) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Norman Thelwell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'How many trading stamps did they give you with him?' beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.349,99) versteigert wurde.
