Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Norman Thelwell could be acquired at Christies in London in August 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors - Including 20th/21st Century Pictures auction, the work Be my valentine; Didn't you hear the sonic bang mister?; and Oh he saw our picnic alright! changed hands for GBP 750.00 (€ 1,029.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Norman Thelwell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'How many trading stamps did they give you with him?' in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,349.99).
