In April 2014 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work From Close to Range by Nobuyoshi Araki. The »bidding war« ended at USD 191,000.00 (€ 137,707.28), 59% above the upper estimate. This high result makes From Close to Range the most expensive artwork by Nobuyoshi Araki that we have observed at auctions so far.
