Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Calligram I by Nja Mahdaoui was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,899.31). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nja Mahdaoui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ikhtilej in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 341,000.00 (€ 272,146.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Calligram I von Nja Mahdaoui im Dezember 2018 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.899,31) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nja Mahdaoui erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ikhtilej im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 341.000,00 (€ 272.146,85).
