Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Composition by Nikolai Vechtomov was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 750.00 (€ 672.34). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nikolai Vechtomov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ville de l'Est/ Eastern town in January 2024 with an auction result of EUR 9,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Composition von Nikolai Vechtomov im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 750,00 (€ 672,34) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nikolai Vechtomov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ville de l'Est/ Eastern town im Januar 2024 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 9.600,00.
