This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas Lancret achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Winter in February 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,655,000.00 (€ 2,174,269.10).
