Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Joan Of Arc by Nicolas Kalmakoff was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 62,315.38). Admittedly, works by Nicolas Kalmakoff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Aphrodite with Eros and Anteros in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 313,250.00 (€ 380,941.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Joan Of Arc von Nicolas Kalmakoff im November 2015 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 62.315,38) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicolas Kalmakoff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Aphrodite with Eros and Anteros im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 313.250,00 (€ 380.941,16).
