Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a woman seated at a table holding a garland of flowers, three-quarter-length, a view into a landscape beyond by Nicolaes Maes for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,426.76). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolaes Maes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group portrait of a family in an Italianate garden with an ornate fountain in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 792,000.00 (€ 1,149,543.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a woman seated at a table holding a garland of flowers, three-quarter-length, a view into a landscape beyond von Nicolaes Maes für USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.426,76) erwerben.
