Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a girl, three-quarter length, in a red satin dress by a fountain, a dog on her lap by Nicolaes Maes was sold in the Made in Holland auction at Christies in Amsterdam in October last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 15,120.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolaes Maes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group portrait of a family in an Italianate garden with an ornate fountain in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 792,000.00 (€ 1,149,543.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a girl, three-quarter length, in a red satin dress by a fountain, a dog on her lap von Nicolaes Maes wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Made in Holland bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 15.120,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicolaes Maes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Group portrait of a family in an Italianate garden with an ornate fountain im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 792.000,00 (€ 1.149.543,66).
