Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Nicolaes Maes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in April 2021. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Portrait of a gentleman, standing three-quarter-length, holding his gloves sold for GBP 7,650.00 (€ 8,799.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolaes Maes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group portrait of a family in an Italianate garden with an ornate fountain in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 792,000.00 (€ 1,149,543.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nicolaes Maes erzielte im April 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, standing three-quarter-length, holding his gloves für GBP 7.650,00 (€ 8.799,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicolaes Maes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Group portrait of a family in an Italianate garden with an ornate fountain im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 792.000,00 (€ 1.149.543,66).
