Despite a disappointment, a good price for Nicolaas Henneman
When the work Zulus, Summer 1853 by Nicolaas Henneman was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,629.46). Despite this disappointing result, Zulus, Summer 1853 is the most expensive artwork by Nicolaas Henneman that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Nicolaas Henneman
Als die Arbeit Zulus, Summer 1853 von Nicolaas Henneman im Mai 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.629,46) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Zulus, Summer 1853 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Nicolaas Henneman, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
