In January 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work The Holy Family with Saints Francis and Catherine of Siena by Nicola Grassi for USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,667.60). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicola Grassi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Holy Family, which sold at auction in July 2012 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 38,211.94).
