Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled - 1992 by Nicholas Howey was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 262.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Howey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in July 2008 with an auction result of USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,410.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled - 1992 von Nicholas Howey im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 262,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Howey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.410,16).
