Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Nguyen Nam Son achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale auction, the work Portrait Of A Monk sold for HKD 478,800.00 (€ 53,031.00) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nguyen Nam Son - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude, which sold at auction in July 2020 for HKD 1,375,000.00 (€ 150,649.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nguyen Nam Son erzielte im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of A Monk für HKD 478.800,00 (€ 53.031,00) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Nguyen Nam Son mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nude beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für HKD 1.375.000,00 (€ 150.649,74) versteigert wurde.
