Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Newell Convers Wyeth could be acquired at Christies in New York in May 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work "She Found Chingachgook Studying The Shores Of The Lake, The Mountains, And The Heavens..." changed hands for USD 645,000.00 (€ 578,527.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 700,000.00 – 1,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Newell Convers Wyeth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "Hands Up!" in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,951,500.00 (€ 4,680,941.58).
