Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Maine Islands by Newell Convers Wyeth. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 87,500.00 (€ 79,408.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Newell Convers Wyeth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Hands Up!" in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,951,500.00 (€ 4,680,941.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Maine Islands von Newell Convers Wyeth zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 79.408,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Newell Convers Wyeth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Hands Up!" im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.951.500,00 (€ 4.680.941,58).
