Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work There Was a Strange Road Rally and Strange Wine as Well by Nathan Carter was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 1,885.23). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nathan Carter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mt. Pleasant Isn't Anymore, which sold at auction in July 2015 for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,667.39).
