This price was achieved in the auction IMPRESSIONIST, MODERN AND POST-WAR ART SALE at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nathan Altman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait Of The Poet Boris Kornilov sold at auction in November 2012 with the realized price of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 45,888.22).
