Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art, which included the work Gonzo by Nate Lowman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,065.00 (€ 10,948.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nate Lowman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled Marilyn #13 in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 530,500.00 (€ 643,624.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gonzo von Nate Lowman zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.065,00 (€ 10.948,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nate Lowman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled Marilyn #13 im Februar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 530.500,00 (€ 643.624,15).
