Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Three works: (i) Daily Scriptures 6:7:68, 2003; (ii) Daily Scriptures 4:9:68, 2003; (iii) Daily Scriptures 6:6:68 by Nari Ward was auctioned at Phillips in London in March 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 113.00 (€ 121.85). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nari Ward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Casio Black in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 175,000.00 (€ 149,957.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Three works: (i) Daily Scriptures 6:7:68, 2003; (ii) Daily Scriptures 4:9:68, 2003; (iii) Daily Scriptures 6:6:68 von Nari Ward im März 2009 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 113,00 (€ 121,85) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nari Ward erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Casio Black im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 149.957,16).
