In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Mahishasura Mardini) sold for USD 27,720.00 (€ 23,605.55) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nandalal Bose have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bull Fighter in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 147,750.00 (€ 109,161.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nandalal Bose erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Mahishasura Mardini) für USD 27.720,00 (€ 23.605,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nandalal Bose auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bull Fighter im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 147.750,00 (€ 109.161,43).
