This artwork by Nandalal Bose achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2018. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Santiniketan sold for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,915.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nandalal Bose have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bull Fighter in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 147,750.00 (€ 109,161.43).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nandalal Bose erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Santiniketan für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.915,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nandalal Bose auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bull Fighter im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 147.750,00 (€ 109.161,43).
