Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Christies in Dubai held the auction Modern & Contemporary Arab, Iranian & Turkish Art Including Masterpieces from The Pharos Art Collection & From The Maath Alousi Collection, which included the work Loopy Amber (From The Urban Toys Series) by Nadim Karam. The price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 25,404.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nadim Karam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Peacock Elephant, which sold at auction in October 2013 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 73,561.87).
