Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work As If White Light Appearing by Sadamasa Motonaga. It changed hands for a price of HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 188,863.84) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 1,000,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sadamasa Motonaga have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Work in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 10,300,000.00 (€ 1,215,768.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit As If White Light Appearing von Sadamasa Motonaga zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 1.764.000,00 (€ 188.863,84) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 1.000.000,00 – 2.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sadamasa Motonaga auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Work im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 10.300.000,00 (€ 1.215.768,70).
